WEEK 106
God, what is your guidance for me today?
Today… enjoy the beauty around you.
How?
Look at it. Take it in.
How?
Tell yourself what it is that is beautiful,
whether it be contained in a person, place, or thing.
Hold the beauty within you… let it touch
your soul, even move you.
What if you cannot see any beauty where
you are?
Then, you be beauty.
Be a beautiful
being today in soul, spirit, and personhood.
How?
By hosting God within you.
And if you do see beauty, let it inspire you
to join yours with it. Let it amplify
your own as you live this day.
Beauty is an aspect of Divinity. It is
a common trait of Spirit. It is manifested goodness.
Today, let beauty
look through your eyes as you recognize it
today, wherever it may be;
waiting for you to notice, acknowledge,
and receive its blessings.
Evening Reflection
Today, I am in the midst of beauty. I am at a mountain getaway with the natural environment as my neighbor. Right outside my room, I’ve seen fish, beavers, ducks and moose as they enjoy the river, ponds and wetlands within my eyesight. This in the midst of a tree lined mountain with a backdrop of sky, clouds, sun… and time to take it all in.
Beauty allows one to rest the soul. There is so much not beautiful that humans do and have done, that to see beauty is a reminder of the original blessing of creation itself… one that we are part of.
Each of us is an original blessing; beautiful by birth.
And then, it is up to us what we do with it. This world, as challenging as we know it can be, allows us the choice to remain beautiful – or we can become quite ugly beings. We can never lose the innate brightness and beauty gifted us by being born, but it can get blocked by the accumulated darkness of our choices, attitudes and behaviors.
What we see as truly beautiful can largely be a function of our level of consciousness. However, some beauty overpowers us with its conspicuous presence. It demands to be noticed, and points to its Maker simply be being. I have seen kids living in tough situations, who have never been immersed in nature, become transformed people after a week in the woods. The natural environment allows the soul to rest and is a connecting portal to God.
Beauty may well be another way to name God. Where there is beauty – goodness manifested – there is love. And where there is love there is God.
