Every child has known God,
Not the God of names,
Not the God of don’ts,
Not the God who ever does anything weird,
But the God who knows only four words.
And keeps repeating them, saying:
‘Come dance with me, come dance.’
— Hafiz (translation by Daniel Ladinsky)
There’s a continuous flow of energy in motion that exists within the universe. We’re part of that flow, as we move and interact in our daily lives.
I like to think of it as a dance. A dance with Spirit in the cosmos. This sacred dance keeps the flow of energy circulating in life.
Just like water flowing in a river, this dynamic energy must continue to circulate to stay healthy, to stay alive. If it stops, it begins to stagnate, to disintegrate, to lose its life force.
Each day when we awake, life invites us to dance. And each day, we have the opportunity to ask ourselves, “Do I want to dance in relationship with Spirit or try to do it all on my own today?”
Dancing is a partnership, and I know that when I enter into this partnership to dance with the Spirit each day, I’m able to shift into a deeper awareness. Some might call this intuition. But I know that for me, this dance takes me out of the thinking mind, and I’m able to tap into a deeper, sacred partnership with Spirit.
Every relationship we have in life is a dance in this flowing energy of the cosmos and we can recognize this in the exchange of giving and receiving. Where there’s giving, there’s always receiving. Where there’s receiving, there’s giving. They’re two vital parts to the dance of life.
Is there something that you want to receive from the universe? Something you want to see manifest in the world? Then take time to give that to the world. This creates a dynamic dance with the flow of energy in life. Whatever you give increases in the sacred flow of the universe, and it will come back to be given to you.
Do you want to see more joy in the world? Then give joy to others in your life.
Want to see others live their dreams in life? Then help them to achieve their dreams in life.
Take a moment to think about your day yesterday. How often did you give what you wanted to see in the world?
Did you give a smile, a blessing, a compliment?
Did you give a hug or a funny story?
Did you give your attention as you listened or your appreciation for something received?
What did you receive from the universe yesterday?
Did you receive intuition and divine guidance in making a decision?
Did you receive a phone call or text from a loved one expressing their care or love?
Did you receive encouragement or trust in your work?
Did you receive the beauty of the natural world all around you?
What would you like to see more of in the world tomorrow? Maybe laughter, peace, connection, positivity? Maybe patience, courage, perseverance? Or appreciation, abundance, and strength?
Whatever it is that you’d like too see, how can you give more of it in your divine dance with the universe, allowing it to create increase in the world?
“Dance is the movement of the universe concentrated in an individual.”
-Isadora Duncan
