WEEK 183
God, what is your guidance for me today? How may I serve the greater good?
Today, within the responsibilities and duties
you have…
be available to another if the
opportunity arises.
Even if no one comes to you, your availability will be a
reminder that you are here for others.
So, ask someone if they need help if you
see an occasion that offers the
opportunity.
And when the opportunity does come,
serve, assist and help with joy!
Remember times that a kind soul has come
to your aid and let gratitude inspire your willingness.
When called upon, give your time to someone
and expect nothing in return…
and desire nothing in return.
In this there is great blessing for you.
Live the day in celebration of life itself!
Live the day ready to serve?
Ready?
Evening Reflection
I had stayed up till 4:30 AM the night before (which is technically this morning) working. I was hoping to sleep in longer than I did. But it was a birthday day for one of our children And I knew my wife was wanting to throw a nice birthday party for them. I got up and asked – just as she was asking – whether I could help. That is one of those moments you realize being married can allow you to share each other’s mind.
Suffice to say, we went shopping for gifts and party supplies and cards. Yes, I was still a little sleepy, but I made myself available. And it was fun. I did get a couple of hours of a much-needed nap later… and the party went off without a hitch.
At the end of it all – my wife asked if I would be willing to prepare some needed ingredients for a joint event that we were having the next day. I said sure, and proceeded to chop, mix and store items, while she took a much-needed break to rest from all she had done to prepare the meal. Later, I served as a masseuse for my wife, and as watchdog for my son and friend as they wanted to galivant the neighborhood at night – now that he was a year older and wanted more freedom for night adventures.
Though I expected and deserved nothing in return, my wife did spontaneously say to me while shopping, “I love you, Sharp.” And the boys did let me know that they were back in the house – safe and sound.
Ahh… the joys of serving.
How was your experience today?
