WEEK 174
God, what is your guidance for me today?
Let the light within you shine forth.
Let it radiate from the very source
of all light and love, which is God.
Let love, as the light of you, shine
through your heart, your mind, and your soul.
Let it glow through your words,
the gentleness of your manner… the pureness
of your intent.
Let your heart be open and welcoming,
knowing that it is the Divinity of
you that is guiding you in all things.
Let your thoughts reflect God’s love
for all creation.
Let joy be your companion today…
and with it, laughter and good will.
Give thanks to God for all the good that
you are and that you are able to share.
Give all that unfold today to the
care of the Presence that hold all
and is in all
Be blessed… even as you bless.
Evening Reflection
I love this guidance! The reason? It knew way before I did what the specific details of my day would be and what I needed to take in to be able to serve others well.
The first 6 stanzas start with the word ‘Let’. To ‘let’ all these things happen, one only needs to remove the blocks, and they will happen of their own accord.
The light within us shines already because that is what Divinity does. It shines forth of its own power as living light. It is we who block it. And when we block it, it is heard in our words and attitude, in our lack of kindness and patience, and other qualities of being.
How do we remove the blocks?
Surrender.
Surrender all thoughts to God. Surrender all judgements and negativity. And, if you cannot do it alone, ask for help. Ask Christ, ask Holy Spirit. Ask Presence. Ask God. Just ask.
Now, the 7th and 8th stanzas begin with ‘Give’. It is a guidance to acknowledge the grace sent our way, and to keep surrendering. The last stanza begins with ‘Be’. After we ‘let’ and ‘give’ we can ‘be’. We can be blessed.
When we surrender our blocks, the light flows and shines forth from us. We take no credit, since we aren’t doing anything. It is Divinity through us that is doing anything. And so, we give God all credit instead of taking credit (as ego would have us do). Then, we can be blessed as light-bearers, even as we bless others with the light we bear.
