WEEK 151
God, what is your guidance for me today? How may I serve the greater good?
Work your work with excellence!
You are a servant of The Most High
and have been given gifts and talents,
interests and passions.
These are given you so that you
might use them in serving others.
even as you are served.
Yes, remember that you also are served.
Be grateful for the gifts and talents
of others.
Today, be encouraging.
Speak with love and do all things
with humility and grace.
Remember, this day
is a gift to you as it is to all.
Live it well.
Keep your spirit open
and ask for wisdom at every turn.
Pray for someone, anyone, even if it is you.
Do these things and you will
add blessing to the world.
Are you ready?
Evening Reflection
This guidance kind of smacked me around all day.
I had a meeting to hammer out a burgeoning idea and found I was resisting. It was not so much the ideas but the work itself. I was already working hard on several projects and my whole being was resisting adding more work to my plate. However, I was committed and wanted to move forward. That is when I realized I just desired for the work to flow; to not be something that felt as if I was swimming upstream in order to progress. After that realization, I told myself to relax. It was then I felt a change. I connected to my passion, the gifts and talents that were needed, and I was able to work with excellence as the work flowed. I was also able to enjoy the gifts and talents of those I was working with.
Later, a family member showed up and needed to talk. I was still smack in the middle of my work. I resisted giving up my time, especially since I didn’t know how much of my listening ear would be needed. But I remembered the guidance to keep my spirit open. I did pray and ask for wisdom even while looking at said loved one. I felt God’s grace within me. I was able to listen, respond and share a bit of wisdom, which I asked God for in the moment. I was able to be encouraging and spoke with the love the guidance had encouraged.
Later… I received a text thanking me for taking the time to listen, offer wisdom and encouragement. It ended with, “I love you!”
I tell you… I have been greatly helped by daily guidance books in my life. I am grateful for the opportunity to be of service for others in sharing what is being given me daily.
