Week 47
God what guidance do you have for me today? How would you have me live into the world? How might I serve your will today? How might I become more loving? How might I grow in wisdom? What would you have me say and do today?
So many questions.
However, it is really one question:
How may I become more like you?
And the answer to all is the same.
It is this…
Abide in me.
Abide in me.
Abide in me.
Abide in me.
Abide in me.
Abide in me…
today.
Any questions?
Week 47
Evening Reflection
Repetition can be a powerful tool. It is what gives chanting its efficacy. It is the chorus of a song is sung over and over again.
Abide in me.
As I read these words, I could feel myself diving deeper into its meaning, and into it’s calling energy and power.
To abide is to constantly be with; to connect with something deeply and intimately, and to remain in this state of immersion. I have experienced abiding with God as a loving, precious, nurturing, supportive and affirming relationship. It is growth provoking. There is a level of trust and vulnerability that allows me to be honest; that allows me to be unafraid of being fully seen and understood. This is because of the love that radiates from the divine. There is safety in abiding, like a young bird sheltered under the wings of its mother. It is a relationship that allows me to grow. This includes making mistakes without being judged. It is a relationship that fosters wisdom and deepens the soul. I am grateful today for the message of abiding. I am not sure why I had six questions. But I did. Some days are just like that. Know what I mean?
