WEEK 166
God, what is your guidance for me today?
Follow the Spirit’s lead.
How to do that?
First, invite Holy Presence in.
Then, as you make plans leave room
for the Holy Spirit to change them.
Be sensitive and watchful to the flow
and unfolding of the day.
Let your intuition sense.
Let your heart feel.
Let inner wisdom guide.
Let Love rule.
Expand your soul to allow others in.
Answer the calling within each moment,
each encounter…
each circumstance.
Keep the invitation open to Holy Spirit’s
presence within you.
By this invitation Grace will guide you,
fill you… and give you knowing.
You will bless those whom you meet today
as you follow
the leading of Spirit.
Are you ready?
Evening Reflection
It never ceases to amaze me when these guidances presage the day’s unfolding, giving me the perfect guidance to focus on as a resource in meeting the unfolding day.
I had planned to spend the day with my daughter on a day trip into nature. I was all ready to go – and then – it turned out we were not going. Ok… then I decided to work all day from home office. As I did, my daughter came over to talk and hang out a bit. I could tell she needed my focused attention. Holy Spirit guided me to change my plans. Afterwards, I tried to get back to work, being home alone. Well, then one of my best friends called. They were in crisis and needed both a friendly ear and some guidance. Again, the guidance was perfect, as it reminded me to be sensitive. I watched the flow and unfolding of the day… let love rule, let others in, etc. Well, after that hour of conversation I finally got to my work, even though it was now afternoon. Soon, my daughter called, wondering if she could come with her significant other and cook both of us dinner. Again… the guidance spoke.
Let others in. Answer the calling in each moment, each encounter and circumstance… keep inviting Spirit in.
And it came… with wisdom, knowing and grace.
This is not the day I planned. However, I can say that the last part of the guidance proved true as well. My daughter thanked me for my time and counsel, and later for the beautiful evening I allowed with her special person. My friend thanked me for listening and for the time… and for being there.
(pause)
I paused this writing, as another daughter just walked in the house from traveling out of the country. It is 2:00am… and yes, I am writing this evening’s response so late. Again, I needed to pause what I was doing as Holy Spirit had other things for me. Well, I got a download of major dramas, heartaches, and heartbreaks.
Follow Spirit’s lead. What a thing to do! But, when you do, you can experience being used and being useful to others. Even being a blessing.
Grace did guide and fill me… and what a feeling that is. The open invitation to be a follower led to an incredible day of being a blessing and help to a number of people. I wanted to spend the day alone, but Spirit had other plans for me.
Love ruled… and healed… and blessed.
All I can really say in response is, Hallelujah, Amen, and… thank you.
