WEEK 157
God, what is your guidance for me today?
Stay relaxed and be awake
to the leading of the Holy Spirit.
Listen with your heart…
Ask for wisdom and discernment
when making decisions.
Remember to breathe consciously
to help you stay clear, calm,
patient, and relaxed.
Be confident in who you are
and allow joy and gratitude
to light your way and fill
your interactions.
See the light in those you meet…
and send silent blessings
their way.
Work, speak, and eat with humility
and grace… allowing the Presence
to work in and through you today.
Are you ready and willing?
OK. Let us begin…
Evening Reflection
I tell you… spiritual growth is a process. It can be a very up and down, all around ride – like a rollercoaster. Just when you think you are better at some aspect of spiritual strength or self-control, or kindness… life can send you a challenge and test you. And it can show up and smack you right in the face before you even realized it was coming.
Today, I followed this guidance pretty well. I was home most of the day, which helps. I could feel that I had taken in the guidance in my morning meeting. Also, in my interactions making a few phone calls. It was a good feeling. Later, a family friend came by. We hung out and were in deep conversation when I made a comment that triggered a past pain for the other. We both became defensive, and I completely fell headlong into the emotions swirling between us. However, we both rode out the emotions. I did remember both my love for the friend and the guidance.
Breathing really helps. To take in a deep breath really can help one to allow God’s grace and love and peace to enter. I was able to reconnect with this guidance, which I had in my pocket – and finally remembered its contents.
The most important aspect I needed to reconnect with was being willing. If you know the right thing to do or a better way to be but are unwilling, then God has been pushed aside by EGO (Edging God Out). Being ready to let Divinity’s Presence guide you means surrendering and becoming a humble servant of Divine Will, which is always about love… not control, or who’s right or wrong, or who is to blame.
Love.
