Week 65

God, how can I become more of what you created me to be today?

Take a deep breath and get ready.

Are you ready?

To become more you must become less.

You must surrender yourself

and keep on surrendering.

Surrender all to me at all times.

This is not easy.

It will take courage, forbearance,

fortitude and willingness.

In return you will become more of what

you were created to be –

a home for goodness… a home for divinity,

for my presence.

Today,

just experience what surrender feels like.

Practice giving up the need to be right

or better than.

Surrender control and the ego satisfaction

of doing it all your way.

Surrender any grudge, jealousy or resentments.

Surrender your desires…

your secret hopes and dreams.

Today…

surrender your very life into my

love and care.

Let go. Make room and invite me into you.

Do not fear. You will not lose you.

You will be found.

This is how you become more.

And when roadblocks come surrender them also.

Remember, this is only one day.

This is only the beginning milestone

of a lifetime journey. Take your time.

Surrender.

Evening Reflection

No matter where we are in life, no matter our age or experience in spiritual matters, we have the opportunity to keep growing our souls. This guidance of surrender is a powerful reminder of being humble and giving all to God. In doing so we also open ourselves to become instruments of service to others.

A family member stopped by today and was wrestling with an episode of shame and guilt. This joyous soul had a guilty conscious because of manipulating someone to get what they wanted, even though the friend was going through their own challenges.

During our conversation I read today’s guidance to them. What made me read it was something that they said. They confessed, “I want to get better as a person. How do I do that?”

It seemed a divinely ordained moment that allowed me to be in service to another. They recognized both the message and the synchronistic timing and exclaimed, “This was just for me.”

Well, it was for me, too. We left each other with new hope and inspiration that we would become better people, and acknowledged that we have been on that path long before today.

It is good to have reminders of how to be, even if we already know. Today was one of those days. Was it for you?
