Week 57

God, what guidance do you have for me today?

Today,

practice being still.

Stillness is the quieting of your inner world.

It is the practice of focusing on the presence of divinity within you,

and staying with it, mindfully awake to its

energy of love and joy.

Stillness is the quieting down of the internal

chatter of the mind.

It is calming the chaos of

emotions. It is resting the soul.

Stillness is connecting to me and

staying in the center of my joy

no matter how the world swirls around you.

Today, be still…

and know that I am God.

Let your breathing be calm and relaxed.

Let any concerns rest in the grace

of the silence found in the space

just beyond the mind’s activity.

Stillness is peace within your own being.

It is letting go and saying,

“Thy will be done.”

It is letting me be me… in you.

Be still today,

and carry it into all you do.

Let it walk you and talk you.

Let it become you.

As you are able to do this you will experience

the subtle, powerful presence of my spirit

guiding you , supporting you, loving you…

being with you, today.

Week 57

Evening Reflection

Exercise and healthy eating are the best things I have done for my body. For my mind it would be study, reading, understanding and learning. For my soul I would say family, good friends, good conversation, music and experiencing joy. For my spirit, it is prayer, meditation and contemplation. That being said, I have experienced that giving and receiving love covers them all.

Today, my experience of stillness was also multi-tiered. The calmness I was able to carry felt beautiful in my body. The peace I felt in my soul felt was overwhelmingly joyful. My mind was stress free and my spirit was buzzing with delight. I was able to think clearly and act in love with more graciousness. Perhaps I can stay in this space. If not, well maybe I can visit it more often, at least.

It has been so powerful in its abiding presence. It has allowed my mind to stay clear and present to what is important for me to do as a life calling. I have received new thoughts and ideas from the sanctuary of silence and am awake to my connection to divinity. I am less scattered in my thinking and much less distracted by life’s limitless distractions.

The amazing thing is that as the day wore on, I did not make the stillness stay. It happened to me. Its presence became so powerful and settling that I became an observer, watching and feeling it settle in me.

Will it stay? We shall see. I did get quite distracted by an awards ceremony on television. But when I recognized it I was able to bring my attention back and readjust my consciousness to be aware of divinity, even while enjoying the televised proceedings. Today was a wonderful reminder that divinity does not interfere, it augments all we do. And it is who we are. Be still… and know.
