Week 38

God, what guidance do you have for me today?

The universe was birthed by it.

Creation flows from it.

Life is sustained by it

You are meant to be an expression 

of love and a channel for love.

Love flows from the heart;

from seeing all as sacred

and divine.

It is the recognition of the 

equality of existence of all beings.

It is seeing yourself in everyone.

It is gratitude for the gift of your

life and sharing it in countless

ways.

Love is what I am.

The more you hold love,

the more of me you become.

You can if you are willing.

Week 38

Evening Reflection

This guidance echoed in my mind all day. Well, really only one word of it did. It was the word love. In every encounter with a person, I heard, “love”. In moments that could have become the beginning of conflict, I heard, “love”.  And it changed what I did, how I responded and even how I felt. Love changed me in each moment I consciously allowed it in.

Yes, love changed me. I heard a quiet echo within my soul saying the word “love”, which I believe was the grace of divinity coming through. And I allowed it. I didn’t resist. I allowed it to infuse me. And then love did what love does.

The really intriguing thing is that somehow, when I heard the word love, it didn’t seem like it was me that was remembering to tell myself to love. It seemed like I was being reminded of my intent to follow the guidance. I pulled it out and read it several times. Just as it started with one word, one word kept reverberating, bringing in love’s energy that powerfully affected my attitudes and responses. 

Jesus said, “I stand at the door and knock.” (Revelation 3:20) Jesus is an image of love, and love waits to be invited in.
